City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

I was taken by book one and completely enraptured by book two of the Mortal Instruments Series, City of Ashes. There is a definite chemistry that Cassandra Clare has created that makes it acceptable with the reader that Jace and Clary have this forbidden yearning. Each character whether Shadowhunter, Downworlder or mundane could stand alone as a protagonist in their own series. I also like how the book changes prospective from one character to the next as a narrative without having the story line stray from the plot. Happily onto book three!
